Living On The Residue by Greg Englesson Thinking of the state of mind that crucified the infidel trying to touch who you where before you tangled up and fell wondering how I could glimpse a bit inside your lovely shell praying that someday we may just have to go embrace this hell Living on the residue, Living living on the residue due due, living living on the residue, living living living on the residue due due Beautiful abundant land from filthy shining sea you see people buzz around inside their tiny tin machinery monkey mind inside the head driving the famed insanity dirty lungs adhere to air fowled by the fear appears to be Living on the residue, Living living on the residue due due, living living on the residue, living living living on the residue due due Ruled by a doctrine that will make you want to clutch and grab as you wonder why your not so happy and in fact your sad. because you can’t get what you need, they take what they want, your mad because you wish you had what they have, now you see you have been had Living on the residue, Living living on the residue due due, living living on the residue, living living living on the residue due due I don’t want to end this song in such a depressed mental state I would like to feel all your love and not at all so much your hate maybe we could see we hold the key to turn the path of fate realize the need to spread the wealth before it gets to late Living on the residue

Is There Another Way? by Greg Englesson I know just how you feel it seems sometimes these wounds will never heal In times such as these... we yearn to be free we look to no where and know thats where to be drive fast from here.... race until the end to drive from there, tell me where you’ve been down by the river flowing endlessly the bridge with all it’s cars, washed into the sea Is there another way in another day who can really say only those who may Now I sit by the edge of the sea of time the moon is so full, blue beaming sublime a jet screams through my head and I know not where I am rise up and walk away, run into all of them they bitch and they moan and they want not what they’ve sown but keep to forge ahead, until they go to bed they dream of nothing new but dig a grave for me and you the seeds scatter in the wind that grows from deep within Is there another way in another day who can really say only those who may The blight upon the land must go hand in hand with the rains that gently bath the flat and rolling plaines and man with all he needs wants more than he can bleed so suffer that we will until we’ve had our fill the change is coming soon, such life grows out of ruin in time we’ll seize the rains and dance to ease the pain let go of what we know and let it flow, as we let go sun sets at sun rise as we die to live our lives

about

© ℗ 2012 Greg Englesson
“Art Not War” was written in and around Woodstock, NY except for 2 tracks written and recorded in Chelsea after moving from the East Village in the late 80’s after the release of The Chronic Citizens “Capital Cult”. 4 tunes were recorded in the tiny wooden room in the cold stone house above a warm kitchen…the 2 tracks recorded in Chelsea were in a tiny studio apartment under a loft bed surrounded by boxes of Chronic Citizens albums…5 songs were recorded in the back of Ed’s music shop in Kingston NY (home of a monthly Jam attended by many local & touring musicians) … “Art Not War” was conceived during the Bush years but given birth during Obama’s 4th year… “Many thanks for words of truth on CD” says Lord Litter whose been playing Englesson for years on his Magic Music Box International.
